The CIR Business Continuity awards are widely regarded by business continuity professionals as celebrating the “peak of achievement in business continuity, security and resilience.”
CMAC secured the “Supply Chain Transportation and Logistics Award” for the business continuity support the company provides for the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC), the armed police force in charge of protecting civil nuclear sites and nuclear materials in England and Scotland, notably during Operation London Bridge. Operation London Bridge was the codename for a project which included the State Funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth and a series of commemorative events in London and Windsor.
The company was also highly commended (runner-up) in the “Specialist Company of the Year” category for its success in providing clients with business continuity, and both strategic and tactical crisis management solutions that minimise disruption, increase the speed of recovery and avoid reputational damage.
Neil Micklethwaite, Chief Operating Officer at CMAC Group commented:
“We’re very pleased the expertise and exceptional commitment of CMAC’s Business Continuity team members has been recognised once again by the CIR Business Continuity Award judges,”
“We’re particularly proud of the “Supply Chain Transportation and Logistics” award we won for our work with our long-term client, Civil Nuclear Constabulary. Operation London Bridge was an intense and challenging national project which involved transporting and accommodating hundreds of armed police officers tasked with maintaining the safety and security of many hundreds of thousands of people during a period of national mourning.”
“The success of Operation London Bridge was built on the CMAC team’s in-depth understanding of the client organisation, its challenges, and objectives, as well as the empathy required to recognise the scale and national importance of such a unique event.”
“During the eight years in which we’ve worked with CNC, our people have continued to invest the time and effort needed to ensure we have everything in place – including risk analysis, people, and processes - to ensure we can deliver a timely, bespoke, seamless, and dependable service that meets the client’s immediate needs.”
According to Steven Edwards, Chief Inspector at the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, “CMAC’s response demonstrated their ability to translate business continuity planning and processes into effective action - all of which were informed by a deep understanding or our organisation and operational challenges.”
“CMAC’s business continuity, risk management and operational experts demonstrated flexibility and a welcome commitment to doing everything possible to ensure CNC’s staff and officers did not have to worry about logistics and could focus on the job in hand.”
